A California federal jury ordered Google LLC to pay $32.5 million to Sonos Inc. for infringing on one of its smart speaker patents. Sonos’ patents on synchronising speakers for music playback were at issue. The jury rejected Google’s allegation that Sonos’ patent claims were invalid and determined that various Google consumer devices infringed them.
