I used Synoptic for a validity search and was pleased with the results. The rates were highly competitive, the deliverable was on time, and the results were as good as (if not better than) other searches I’ve used.

Managing Director — Head of Hi-Tech Patent Research
15 years in prior art research and patent analysis · B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering, Thapar Institute · Law graduate, CCS University, Meerut
Ankit Saxena founded Synoptic IP in 2013 and leads the firm’s hi-tech patent research practice. With 15 years in prior art search and patent analysis, he reviews the technical methodology behind the search services the firm delivers. His work spans the full prior-art lifecycle — patentability and novelty searches, invalidity searches, freedom-to-operate analysis, landscape studies, and licensing support including SEP claim charts and evidence-of-use identification — working directly with patent attorneys, in-house IP teams, SMEs and Fortune 500 corporations across more than 70 countries.
Technically, his depth sits in advanced ICT — AI-driven cybersecurity, 6G networks, semiconductors, telecommunications and computing — alongside mechanical-engineering domains such as additive manufacturing and robotics. He also oversees the firm’s life-sciences research covering CRISPR, mRNA and cancer therapeutics.
2013 – Present · Founder & Managing Director, Synoptic IP
Built and leads a team of IP engineers and patent illustrators. Responsible for research methodology, IP strategy, client engagement and project execution across patent prosecution support, licensing support, research and analytics, and litigation support.
2012 – 2013 · Project Manager, Gurgaon-based patent research firm
Led a team of six patent analysts serving one of the firm’s largest IP clients, reviewing patent research across electronics, telecommunications, computing, networking and information technology — responsible for team building, mentoring, delivery and client interaction.
2011 – 2012 · Patent Analyst, Gurgaon-based patent research firm
Prior-art research across landscape analysis, invalidity searches, patentability searches, infringement analysis and freedom-to-operate analysis. Worked extensively on evidence-of-use studies, claim charts and product-to-patent mapping for a leading US IP firm.
2007 – 2011 · B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering
Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
Ankit lives in Noida with his wife and their two children, and protects his weekends for them. Much of that time goes on a cricket pitch or in a swimming pool — usually coaching rather than playing, since he is the one teaching both children to swim, skate and cycle.
He is a firm believer that the patience required to explain a difficult concept to a six-year-old is the same patience that makes a good patent analyst: slow down, find the right analogy, and keep going until it lands. It is an approach that shows up in how he mentors the engineers at Synoptic IP.
I used Synoptic for a validity search and was pleased with the results. The rates were highly competitive, the deliverable was on time, and the results were as good as (if not better than) other searches I’ve used.
Ankit did a very thorough and professional job on a claim chart assignment from us. He showed great perseverance when things got difficult and was able to get the job done. I would work with him again.
I have worked with Ankit on a couple of projects and I really liked his ability to quickly grasp the technology. He is a smart worker and always eager to learn.
I have worked with Ankit on multiple projects and was always happy with the quality of his research. He is a solution-driven person who always provides solutions to the problems he faces in a project.
